Arrival and from Sabiha Gökçen Airport: Take the Havataþ shuttlebus (www.havatas.com) to Kadýköy. iskele house is just a few minutes’walk from the Kadýköy Havataþ terminal.
Arrival from Atatürk Airport: Take the Havataþ shuttlebus that goes to Taksim and get out at Bakýrköy pier (Ýskele). Take that catamaran to Kadýköy (www.ido.com.tr). You can walk to iskele house from the Kadýköy pier in 15 minutes.
Once settled in Kadýköy, you can use the frequent ferries that cross the Marmara Sea and the Bosphorus to reach Eminönü, Karaköy, Beþiktaþ and Kabataþ on the European side as well as the Princes’ Islands in the Marmara Sea (www.sehirhatlari.com.tr ).
On the Anatolian side, the brand new subway (Metro) line which starts in Kadýköy, as well as buses and dolmuþ will get you around.
On the European side, you will mostly make use of the tramway and funiculars, but there are also many buses (www.istanbul-ulasim.com.tr).
If you are coming by car, there is a guarded parking lot in our street.
iskele house lies in a quiet side street in central Kadýköy. A few minutes’walk take you to a street with bakers and pastry shops, greengrocers, grocery stores, and banks.
Also easily accessible on foot is Kadýköy’s extensive pedestrian precinct, which offers shops, restaurants, bars and cafés to suit every taste. Here you can browse in music stores and clothes shops, shop for antiques or fresh fish, buy spices and dried fruit, look at some of the old churches, or get a tattoo done.
There is culture on offer at the local opera house (www.sureyyaoperasi.org), the Barýþ Manço culture centre (www.bmkm.gen.tr) and several cinemas.
